Allowing Yourself Some Relaxation
Summer has been one busy season, in fact, it’s been a very hectic two years of my life and taking a breather isn’t something that pops up on my agenda often enough. Relaxing may be a rare occasion, but during those few spare moments I’ve got my favourite go-to activities nailed…
The typical relaxation routine is listening to old 90’s Spotify playlists or current favourite albums (FKA Twigs’ M3LLI55X and T-Swift’s 1989 are always spot on for zoning yourself out after a long day of work), possibly a face mask to relax and treat my face and catching up with some uplifting and hilarious YouTube videos. It’s those little moments where you can take focus off life that make you feel a bit calmer and able to escape from the daily demands we face regularly.
My ultimate relaxation though? A good cup of tea – yes, how typically British of me to say so, but tea really is a brilliant way to ground yourself. I must admit I am usually a herbal tea fan, but since I’ve tried the delicious Clipper Green Tea range I have become a bit of a convert! My mornings are kick started with a big mug of Lemon Green Tea which helps wake me up and get focused for the day ahead, plus it doesn’t have a strong ‘tea’ taste which is great if you’re just starting out with green teas. When I want to relax, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the Lime and Ginger Green Tea which may seem like a zingy wake-me-up but the warming ginger settles my tummy and makes it easier to wind down in the evenings when debating yoga or a Twitter chat before an early night – the wild life of a 21-year-old right?
Luckily for me this week, I’m having a 4 day break to Paris where I’ll be switching off my social media for the first time since Summer 2013 (it’ll also be my first holiday in a while too, oh to see another county let alone country!) and give myself a well needed rest – a bit of culture, maybe some shopping and quality time to myself to reconnect and reevaluate. The perfect way to end the summer and welcome in the Autumn don’t you think?
