5 Ways To Love Yourself More

Posted: April 28, 2015

We’re 3 months into the year, and by now most people have probably failed their new year’s resolutions. I know I’ve struggled with mine, but have recently decided to make 2015 the year of loving myself. Now, it’s a funny concept to grasp, as some may see it as being over-confident, but it’s such a great thing. How can someone else love you, if you don’t well and truly love yourself? Here are my top 5 ways that I’ve been doing to try and love myself in the past few months.

Read more – Now this one has been a combination of reading more books in general, but also reading some self-help books that have really helped me to think. There are loads of great ones out there, that really get you thinking about love, life and everything else, but my favourites would have to be Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed and #GirlBoss by Sophia Amaruso.

I also try to drink more water, although if I fancy something with a little more flavour, a nice cup of Clipper Green Tea is perfect.

Think about what you’re putting in your body – This is a hard one for me, as I absolutely love food. I sometimes struggle with the idea of exercising and eating less, because I can’t help but have that love for food. You don’t have to go on the world’s strictest diet and no longer eat any form of cake or chocolate or crisps, because for most that’s not achievable. I try to think about what I’m eating, and cut down on things that aren’t good for me. I also try to drink more water, although if I fancy something with a little more flavour, a nice cup of Clipper Green Tea is perfect & I’ve been absolutely loving the Pear & Honey flavour this month.

Look after your skin – I’ve realised recently that caking your skin in chemicals is just as bad as eating bad food, so I’ve really been trying to use more natural products. I’m an absolutely sucker for products from Lush, so have definitely been trying to use more of their products. I’ve also came across Australian brand MooGoo, which has just worked wonders – they have all kinds of skincare products and have just launched their beautiful make up range Dusty Girls.

Take time to think – Thinking can do all kinds of things, but taking some time away from your stressful life to think about how you’re feeling is such a great thing to do. Taking a few minutes every day to just listen to yourself and understand what your body and mind actually need will really help. I often take the time whilst sitting down with a lovely cup of tea!

Give yourself a compliment – this is another strange one for a lot of people, because they struggle to compliment themselves. I know I previously did, but now I’ve realised how important it is to actually give yourself credit for things more. It’s so important to look at yourself, and tell yourself how beautiful you are, how great you are for achieving something, and just how awesome you are at living your life. Look in the mirror every day, and say something good about yourself. Just because others may not see it, it doesn’t mean you don’t have to either.

With love from Clipper!

We've gone a bit bonkers at Clipper HQ and decided we wanted to share the love with our lovely Clipper tea drinkers out there! We’ve created 3 Limited Edition tea caddies and each comes FREE with our special packs of Fairtrade Everyday Tea, Organic Everyday Tea and Pure Green tea (80 tea bags).

We’ve also made thousands of unbleached Clipper tea-towels and popped them into other packs of our Fairtrade Everyday Tea (80 bags). There are 4 different designs to look out for. And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve only gone and put 100% more tea bags into boxes of our Pure Green Tea 26  Bags – yes we’ve squeezed 52 bags in there!
